Economic Calendar

An Economic Calendar is a tool that lists the scheduled release dates of major economic reports, data, and events that can influence the financial markets. These include announcements such as GDP growth, inflation figures (CPI), interest rate decisions from central banks, employment reports, and other key indicators that show the health of an economy. Traders use the calendar to prepare for times when volatility is likely to increase.

For example, if the U.S. Federal Reserve is set to announce an interest rate decision on September 18th, the economic calendar will highlight the date and time, often with the expected forecast compared to previous results. A forex trader might then adjust their positions ahead of the announcement to manage risk or look for opportunities after the release.

An economic calendar helps traders and investors stay informed, avoid surprises, and plan around events that could impact currencies, stocks, commodities, and indices. In short, it answers the question: “What important economic events are coming up that could move the markets?”
